International Dickens Fellowship Annual Conference - Chicago July 16-21

Come join us at the International Dickens Fellowship’s Annual Conference July 16-21 in Chicago. So far six of us are going.  (This number includes me, Louise, Sylvia, Gail, Donna and her husband.) The cost for seminars, all meals and accommodation, entertainment, tours of Chicago and banquet is $1015.00.This does not include airfare.

The Chicago Fellowship has graciously extended the registration deadline until June 1. I have heard that there are about 100 places at the Loyola College venue and that 70 have already registered. They ask that anyone interested register as soon as they can to ensure a spot. Unfortunately there is no refund policy. If you are interested in going please let me know.

The registration form for a single accommodation can be found at: Booking form single

If you need the form for double accommodation, you can find it on line or let me know and I will send it to you.

Below is my most recent correspondence with Jim Walsh, Chicago Fellowship President:

Dear Ellen,

We must have your attending members’ booking form with total money to me by June 1. Should any wish to register before June 1, that’s wonderful. We have so much to do as the conference dates approach I cannot give your branch any further time leeway. Thus there is no refund policy.

Do check the London website - www.dickensfellowship.org - for conference info. It’s on the home page. There is a PDF there with lots of informative links.
There are many spots available at this time. I cannot predict the future. All rooms (single or double) are in Regis Hall on the Loyola Lake Shore campus. All rooms are air-conditioned and have shower, sink and toilette ensuite and have towels, linens and soap. There are no additional campus costs beyond those on the booking form. You must pay for transport from O'Hare airport to the campus. Committee members are in the process of arranging this transport cost for a minimum. We must know your airline and time of arrival so that we can coordinate your possible (it’s not yet sure) pickup with others coming from Europe, Asia and Australia. You can see that this transport is a daunting job which may overdaunt the committee.
Do check the London website. If you have further questions, I will try to answer them in a timely manner.
Cordially,
Jim

I am very excited about the conference and really looking forward to it. Please think about joining us! It will be a blast!!
