The screening of “Oliver!” went very well. Margaret gave an excellent introduction to Dickens and his works to the audience. There were about 41 people in attendance (including five Fellowship members), most were adults, but there were also a few children accompanying their parents. Considering the length of the movie, the kids did very well.
At intermission, the library served hot chocolate and the box of cookies I brought was empty by the time I left. All in all, everyone had a good time.
What a great adaptation, visually appealing with great music and lyrics - a feast for the eyes! It was such a pleasure to see it again after such a long time!
